From request to certificate
How your request moves through to a certificate, under ISO/IEC 17021-1.
- 1
You submit this request
Choose your standard(s) from our full catalogue — ISO management systems, food safety, Halal, Kosher, GMP, social/ethical and market-access schemes — describe your scope and size, list your products for Halal/Kosher, and attach your legal documents (e.g. commercial register and tax card). It takes a few minutes and there's no obligation.
- 2
We review & prepare a proposal
≤ 2 business daysOur certification team reviews your request, confirms the scope and applicable scheme(s), and prepares a costed scheme of work (proposal) based on the accredited audit-time rules.
- 3
You accept the proposal
Once you accept, we issue the agreement and invoice, and plan the audit. The conditions that will apply are published in our Conditions of Certification.
- 4
Stage 1 & Stage 2 audit
Competent, impartial auditors carry out a two-stage initial audit under ISO/IEC 17021-1. Stage 1 checks readiness; Stage 2 evaluates implementation and effectiveness.
- 5
Independent certification decision
A decision-maker who was not part of the audit team reviews the audit file and makes the certification decision — keeping the grant of certification impartial.
- 6
Certificate issued & maintained
We issue your certificate and certification mark, then maintain certification through annual surveillance and three-yearly recertification.
