Yes. CAS is accredited by EGAC, which is an IAF MLA signatory. ISO 9001 is within EGAC's IAF MLA scope, so the certificate is recognised by signatory accreditation bodies in over 100 economies, for voluntary schemes.

The audit checks that your quality management system meets every requirement of ISO 9001:2015, clauses 4 to 10: context of the organisation, leadership, planning, support, operation, performance evaluation and improvement. Auditors look for evidence that the system is implemented and effective in practice, not only documented. Any nonconformity must be addressed before the certificate is issued.

Stage 1 reviews your documentation, confirms the scope of certification and checks whether your management system is ready for Stage 2. Stage 2 is the full on-site audit that evaluates whether the system is effectively implemented and meets all requirements of the standard. Nonconformities identified must be corrected before the certificate is issued.

A CAS ISO 9001 certificate is valid for 3 years. The initial certification is year 1 of the cycle; surveillance audits in years 2 and 3, the first no later than 12 months after the certification decision, verify that your management system continues to meet the requirements of the standard, and a recertification audit before the certificate expires renews it for a new cycle.

Amendment 1:2024 (Climate action changes) to ISO 9001:2015 was published in February 2024. It adds two requirements: §4.1 — the organisation shall determine whether climate change is a relevant issue; §4.2 — a NOTE that relevant interested parties can have requirements related to climate change. CAS incorporates these requirements into all certification audits, so your certificate reads ISO 9001:2015 + Amd.1:2024.

Yes. ISO 9001:2026, the sixth edition, was published in September 2026. It cancels and replaces ISO 9001:2015 and incorporates Amendment 1:2024. ISO lists six main changes: core terms and definitions added to clause 3; quality culture and ethical behaviour addressed in the requirements; risks and opportunities treated separately; strengthened management of change; enhanced explanatory content in the informative Annex A; and the removal of Annex B. The transition is governed by Global ACI TECH-3-TR 2029-09-30 (M), issued 4 September 2026. Your ISO 9001:2015 certificate remains valid until 30 September 2029 at the latest, when the transition ends. After 31 March 2028, new certifications are issued only to the 2026 edition. Accredited certification to ISO 9001:2026 by CAS begins once EGAC has recorded its transition decision for CAS, due by 30 September 2027. Your transition audit takes place at a scheduled surveillance or recertification audit, or at a special audit, and reviews the changed requirements, your organisation's context and any other changes your system needs. CAS will contact every certified client with the steps and timing.

CAS currently certifies to ISO 9001:2015 including Amendment 1:2024. ISO 9001:2026 was published in September 2026. Under the Global ACI transition requirements, CAS issues EGAC-accredited ISO 9001:2026 certificates only after EGAC's transition decision on CAS (due by 30 September 2027), issues new and initial certifications only to the 2026 edition after 31 March 2028, and completes the transition of every certified client before 30 September 2029. Your ISO 9001:2015 certificate stays valid until then at the latest; the transition audit is combined with your next surveillance or recertification audit wherever the schedule allows.
