IAF and ILAC are now Global ACI: what it means for CAS certificates

On 1 January 2026, the International Accreditation Forum (IAF) and the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) brought their work together in a single organisation: the Global Accreditation Cooperation Incorporated, known as Global ACI. The IAF website is now kept as an archive, and current information is published by Global ACI.

What stays the same for CAS clients

  • CAS remains accredited by the Egyptian Accreditation Council (EGAC), accreditation No. 012418. The accreditation covers ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 22000, ISO 50001 and ISO 22301.
  • Certificates issued by CAS remain valid. Certified organisations do not need to take any action.
  • Global ACI states that accreditation bodies that were IAF MLA signatories on 31 December 2025 became signatories to the Global ACI MRA. The IAF archive lists EGAC as an IAF MLA signatory.

The IAF MLA mark

IAF MLA recognition applies to CAS certificates for ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 22000 and ISO 50001. ISO 22301 is accredited by EGAC but sits outside it.

Global ACI document MRA-006 allows the IAF MLA mark to be used under existing licences until the Global ACI MRA mark is legally registered and available. From then on, the old mark is not permitted for new accreditations or renewals. Until EGAC notifies its accredited bodies of a change, CAS continues to use its marks exactly as it does today.

What will change, and when

When the Global ACI MRA mark becomes available, accreditation bodies move to it under Global ACI rules, and the certification bodies they accredit follow. CAS will update the marks and wording on its certificates, website and documents only after EGAC notifies us, and will publish that update here.

New editions of standards

Transition requirements for a new edition of a standard, such as the new edition of ISO 9001, are issued within the international accreditation framework and applied by EGAC. CAS will publish its transition arrangements once those requirements are issued. Until then, certificates to ISO 9001:2015 remain valid.
