What is SLCP Converged Assessment?

The SLCP (Social & Labor Convergence Program) is an industry-wide initiative that created the Converged Assessment Framework (CAF) — a single, standardised social and labour data collection tool that replaces multiple overlapping audits. Data is verified by accredited bodies and shared with multiple buyers simultaneously through the SLCP platform.

Who Is This For?

Manufacturers and facilities in apparel, footwear, textiles, and hardgoods whose customers (brands and retailers) are SLCP signatory brands — including H&M, Levi's, PVH, Patagonia, and 200+ others.

Key Benefits
  • Single assessment accepted by 200+ brands and retailers
  • Dramatically reduces audit fatigue for facilities
  • Data shared directly with all brand connections on the platform
  • Not a pass/fail system — provides improvement roadmap
  • Covers the same areas as SMETA but with standardised data
  • Increasingly required alongside or instead of SMETA by SLCP signatory brands
Certification Process
1
Application & Review
Submit your application. CAS reviews your organisation's scope, personnel, sites, and activities to prepare a detailed audit time calculation and formal commercial proposal.
2
Stage 1 — Document Review
On-site or remote review of your management system documentation, readiness assessment, and confirmation of Stage 2 audit scope and plan.
3
Stage 2 — On-site Audit
Full on-site audit of the implemented management system against the standard's requirements. Findings are reported; nonconformities must be closed before certification.
4
Certification Decision
CAS's independent certification committee reviews the audit findings and issues the certificate. The certificate is valid for 3 years.
5
Surveillance & Recertification
Annual surveillance audits (~1/3 of initial audit time) maintain certification. Recertification audit (~2/3 of initial time) is conducted before certificate expiry to renew for a further 3 years.
Frequently Asked Questions
For brands that are SLCP signatories, yes — SLCP CAF data can replace SMETA audit reports. However, some buyers still require SMETA. CAS advises on which is required based on your specific buyer requirements.
No. SLCP produces a verified data report shared on the SLCP platform — it is not a certificate. It is a data collection and sharing mechanism that reduces duplicative auditing.
